If one day he would allow himself to lift less weight, his work would be a lot easier and he wouldn’t have to put so much effort into it every day. But one day he would find himself in the position of reducing another 10% in order to struggle less. Within a few weeks, he would have to find another job as no one would go to the circus to see a strong guy lifting light weights.

Where do the professional athletes find the strength to deal with intense training? Pretty much the same as the circus strongest man, every day they put more effort into it as they have a goal that makes the whole effort worthwhile. They set a target and direct all their energy towards achieving it. They look at their goal as if it were a lighthouse which guides them through night or fog and gets them back on track.
